Your Questions, Answered with Care

Everything Muslim parents in the USA, UK, and Canada ask before entrusting us with their child's Qur'anic education — answered honestly and clearly, MashaAllah.

فَسْـَٔلُوٓا۟ أَهْلَ ٱلذِّكْرِ إِن كُنتُمْ لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

Our Teachers

Questions 1 – 5
1Are your Quran teachers qualified and certified?

Yes, Alhamdulillah. Every Mu'allim and Mu'allimah at Quran Skool is, at minimum, an Ijazah-certified Hafiz or Hafizah — holding an unbroken chain (Sanad) of Qur'an transmission tracing back to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Many of our teachers also hold the Sabe-e-Ashra qualification (mastery of the ten authentic Qira'at) and are Wifaq-ul-Madaris credentialed — the highest tier of the traditional madrasah system.

Beyond religious credentials, every teacher is additionally trained in child-first teaching methodology before being assigned a single student. We do not compromise on this, In Sha Allah.

2Do your teachers speak fluent English?

Yes. Fluency in English is a firm requirement, not a bonus, MashaAllah. Our teachers are bilingual — fluent in English, Urdu, and Arabic where needed — which is essential for second-generation Muslim children in the USA, UK, and Canada who think and process in English.

This means instructions are clear, explanations are simple, and your child genuinely understands what they are learning rather than simply repeating sounds they don't connect with.

3Can I choose a male or female Quran teacher?

Absolutely, In Sha Allah. We have a full team of both qualified male Mu'allimeen and female Mu'allimaat. You may state your preference at the time of booking your free trial, and we will match your child accordingly. Both teams hold the same Ijazah certification and child-pedagogy training.

4Can I request a female Quran teacher for my daughter?

Of course, BarakAllahu feeki. Many parents specifically request a female teacher for their daughters — for haya, for warmth, and for a more nurturing dynamic — and many sisters prefer learning from a fellow sister. Simply mention this when booking. You can also learn more on our dedicated Female Quran Teacher page.

5Are your teachers experienced in teaching children?

Yes, MashaAllah. Teaching a 5-year-old is a very different skill from teaching an adult — and this is precisely where most online platforms fall short. Our teachers are selected and trained specifically to work with children, including children growing up between cultures in the West.

They understand short attention spans, emotional responses, and how to correct gently without discouraging. Above all, they are chosen for Sabr Jameel — beautiful patience.

Category Two

Courses & Curriculum

Questions 6 – 10
6Do you teach beginners with no prior Quran reading experience?

Yes — Alhamdulillah, this is who much of our programme is built for. Your child can start from absolute zero, with no prior knowledge of Arabic letters or sounds. We begin with letter recognition and basic phonics, then gradually build toward joining letters, forming words, and reading. We assume nothing and rush nothing.

7Do you teach Noorani Qaida?

Yes, MashaAllah. Noorani Qaida is our foundational course for every new student — covering the 28 Arabic letters, their proper Makharij (articulation points), vowel marks, and letter joining. We teach it with an engaging, interactive method rather than dry repetition. Learn more on our Noorani Qaida page.

8Do you teach Quran reading with Tajweed?

Yes, In Sha Allah. Once a child has a solid foundation, we teach Qur'an recitation with the full rules of Tajweed — pronunciation, elongation (Madd), nasalization (Ghunnah), Idgham, Ikhfa, and pausing (Waqf). Tajweed is introduced gradually, in the context of actual ayaat, never as a list to memorise. See our Quran with Tajweed page.

9Do you offer Quran memorization (Hifz) classes?

Yes, Alhamdulillah. Our Hifz programme is guided by Hafiz tutors and structured around the classical method of Sabaq (new lesson), Sabqi (recent revision), and Manzil (older revision). Memorisation typically begins with the short surahs of Juz Amma and builds gradually at the child's pace. Visit our Hifz Quran page to learn more.

10Do you teach Islamic studies, daily duas, and Salah?

Yes, MashaAllah. Alongside Qur'an, our curriculum includes the essentials of Islamic practice — the five daily prayers (Salah) with correct procedure and recitation, the Six Kalimahs, daily masnoon duas, basic Islamic manners (Adab), and selected stories from the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the Sahaba. This way, Qur'an learning becomes complete Deen education.

Classes & Scheduling

Questions 11 – 17
11Are the classes one-on-one or group based?

Every session at Quran Skool is strictly 1-on-1 — one student and one teacher, never a group. This is non-negotiable for us. Your child receives 100% of the teacher's attention, corrections happen privately and gently, and the pace adjusts entirely to your child. Learn more on our 1-on-1 Classes page.

12How long is each online Quran class?

Session length is matched to the child's age and attention span, MashaAllah:

  • 15 minutes — for toddlers and pre-K (ages 2.5–5)
  • 20–25 minutes — for early primary (ages 5–8)
  • 25–30 minutes — for primary (ages 8–12)
  • 30–45 minutes — for teens and adults

We keep sessions intentionally short for younger children — fifteen focused minutes produce far more learning than forty-five distracted ones.

13How many classes per week are recommended?

For most children, we recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week for steady, consistent progress. Hifz students typically benefit from 5 sessions per week. That said, the right frequency depends on your child's age, goals, and your family's routine — we will advise you honestly during the free trial, In Sha Allah.

14Can I choose flexible class timings according to USA time zones?

Yes, Alhamdulillah. We serve all four major US time zones — Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific — as well as the UK and Canada. Our teachers are available from early morning through late evening (roughly 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM in your local time), seven days a week. You choose the slots that fit your household.

15Do you offer weekend Quran classes?

Yes, In Sha Allah. We teach seven days a week, including Saturdays and Sundays. Many families prefer weekend slots when children are more rested and schedules are calmer. Weekend timings are subject to availability, so we recommend booking early.

16What happens if my child misses a class?

We understand that life happens, MashaAllah. If you inform us in advance, missed sessions can be rescheduled to another available slot at no extra charge. We simply ask for reasonable notice so the teacher's time can be managed fairly. Repeated last-minute absences without notice may not always be recoverable, but we always try our best to accommodate.

17Can we pause classes during vacations or travel?

Yes, of course. Many families travel, observe school breaks, or need a pause during Ramadan or summer. Simply let us know in advance and we will place your enrolment on hold — your slot and your assigned teacher will be reserved for your return, In Sha Allah, subject to reasonable notice.

Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ

Children & Safety

Questions 18 – 22
18What age can my child start online Quran classes?

Children can begin structured Arabic phonics and Qur'an preparation as early as age 2.5, MashaAllah. At that stage the focus is on sound awareness, letter shapes, and building comfort through play. Formal Qur'an reading with Tajweed typically begins around age 5–6. There is no upper limit either — we teach teenagers and adults starting from zero too.

19Are online Quran classes effective for children?

Yes — when taught correctly, very much so, In Sha Allah. Thousands of families across the USA, UK, and Canada have seen their children learn successfully online with us. The 1-on-1 format actually allows for more focused attention than a crowded masjid classroom. The key is the teaching method — engaging, interactive, and paced for the child — which is exactly what we are built around.

20How do you keep young children engaged during lessons?

Through our Play & Pray approach, MashaAllah. Rather than dry repetition, our teachers use visual prompts, call-and-response, rhythm, stories, and small interactive activities — so the child is constantly participating, not passively listening. Engagement comes before correction, and every session ends with a small achievement so the child feels progress and looks forward to the next class.

21Are online Quran classes safe and private for children?

Yes, Alhamdulillah. Classes are conducted through trusted platforms (Zoom or Google Meet) in a private 1-on-1 setting. We encourage parental presence and supervision, especially in early sessions. Our teachers are carefully vetted, and we maintain a respectful, child-appropriate environment at all times. Your child's safety and comfort are a serious trust we carry.

22Can parents observe or monitor the live classes?

Yes, and we genuinely welcome it. You are free to sit beside your child, listen from another room, or join silently from another device. Parental presence often helps young children feel safe, and many parents quietly pick up the basics themselves, MashaAllah. Transparency between teacher, child, and parent is part of how we work.

Progress & Reports

Questions 23 – 26
23How do you track my child's progress?

Each child's journey is tracked individually, MashaAllah. The teacher records lessons completed, pronunciation accuracy, Tajweed rules introduced, and areas needing focus. Because every class is 1-on-1, progress is genuinely visible — never averaged across a group or lost in a crowd.

24Do you provide progress reports to parents?

Yes, In Sha Allah. Parents receive a monthly progress report covering lessons completed, pronunciation and Tajweed development, and recommended areas of focus. Teachers are also available for brief parent check-ins between sessions. You will never be left wondering where your child stands.

25Do you assign homework or revision practice?

Yes — light, manageable revision, MashaAllah. The teacher will recommend short daily practice (often just 5–10 minutes) to reinforce what was learned in class. Consistency at home is what turns a good class into lasting learning. We keep it gentle so it never feels like a burden to the child.

26How long does it take to learn to read the Quran fluently?

For a child starting from zero with consistent twice-weekly classes, basic fluent Qur'an reading with Tajweed application typically develops in 18 to 36 months, In Sha Allah. This varies with the child's age, class frequency, and home reinforcement. The Noorani Qaida foundation alone usually takes 6–10 months. Our curriculum is paced individually — your child moves when they are ready.

Pricing & Policies

Questions 30 – 35
30Do you offer sibling discounts or family packages?

Yes, MashaAllah. We offer a family discount for households enrolling more than one child: 10% off for two siblings, and 15% off for three or more. May Allah ﷻ place barakah in every home that learns the Qur'an together. Ameen.

31Are there any registration fees?

No, Alhamdulillah. There are no registration fees, no setup fees, and no hidden charges. You only pay the simple monthly plan fee once you decide to enrol after your free trial. What you see is what you pay.

32What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We keep it fair and honest, In Sha Allah. You may cancel at any time with seven days' notice — there are no long-term contracts and no cancellation penalties. Refunds for any unused, pre-paid sessions are processed promptly. For full details, please see our Terms of Service.

33How do I register my child for classes?

It is simple, MashaAllah. Message us on WhatsApp or fill the form on our Contact page with your child's age and your time zone. We will schedule a free trial, match your child with a suitable teacher, and — if the trial feels right — set your weekly schedule and begin. No complicated onboarding.

34Can I change the assigned teacher if we are not satisfied?

Yes, absolutely. The teacher-child relationship is the heart of everything, and a good match matters deeply. If you feel your child is not connecting with their assigned teacher, simply let us know — we will reassign a different Mu'allim or Mu'allimah without any fuss, In Sha Allah. Your child's comfort comes first.

35Do you provide certificates upon course completion?

Yes, In Sha Allah. Upon completing a course milestone — such as finishing Noorani Qaida, completing a Tajweed level, or a Hifz achievement — your child receives a certificate of completion, MashaAllah. While the true reward of Qur'an learning is with Allah ﷻ, these certificates are a meaningful way to celebrate and encourage your child's progress.
